Vandersteen 2W powered subwoofer pair, black

I am the second owner of this pair of black Vandersteen 2W subwoofers. The 2W is very fast and many maintain that these are one of the most musical subs in existence, perfect for pairing with Vandersteens, of course, also for pairing with notoriously difficult speakers to blend subs to such as Magnepans, Martin Logans, etc.

Have decided to move from separates to an AVR and so can no longer use these subs (those of you who know of these subs know that they have to be used with separates as they require the use of passive crossovers between the pre/pro and amp, something that I can no longer accommodate).

These units do have some dings on the edges of the wood end caps (pics to be attached soon), but they are well maintained with no significant damage to the woodwork or to the fabric cloth.

Asking $500 each but willing to discount if willing to take both. I no longer have the original boxes, so would prefer a local pickup (I live in San Francisco). Otherwise, will entertain the idea of splitting with the buyer the cost of ordering shipping boxes from Vandersteen for shipping anywhere int he U.S.

DRIVERS: Three (3) 8” critically damped long fiber cones with butyl rubber surrounds.
CROSSOVER: 6dB per octave at 80Hz.
INTERNAL AMP: 300 watt with no current limiting. Adjustable sensitivity to match speakers from 82 to 94dB efficiency.
SYSTEM: Second order, slot loaded. Q=.5.
PHYSICAL: 18.5” high x 18” wide x 17” deep. 90 pounds gross. 80 pounds net.
