Color is black, condition is good to very good (notable exceptions are nicks on the back and one hole in the screen about the size of a pencil eraser - but in not noticeable due to speaker being black and screen being black. Original packaging for safe transport.
I went back and forth on getting the Beethovan IIs and the Grands, in the end I found that I heard little to no difference between the two and therefore went with the more cost effective IIs. I found the only notable improvement (and minor at that) was the additional of the 3rd mid-bass driver in the Grands. It was hard to tell, but perhaps there was a bit more bass weight – but only on very limited recordings.
Overall, both versions are polite speakers that will not offend anybody and will be appreciated by most. If you have a system that you feel is to bright or etched or a very difficult room, then these are very good speakers to consider. These are speakers that sound excellent when you sit down and listen critically for hours on end, yet also perform exceedingly well when you are doing your thing around the house, standing, walking around, etc. . . You are not relegated to sitting in the sweet spot!
Imaging, sound staging, focus, PRAT and overall performance make these very enjoyable speakers to own and will be greatly appreciated by many music listeners.
They are available for audition in my home (SW Michigan) and I do have the original boxes, though not in great shape. I would reinforce the boxes with plywood (internally) for some added rigidity. Shipping is the buyers cost.
