If you are not using some type of system to press the record firmly against the platter for vibration control, you are missing out on half of the performance your turntable can provide. That is a proven fact. You "must" be able to help eliminate the incredible vibrations that are being created by the stylus dragging through the vinyl grooves. The imaging and sound staging will be enhanced dramatically. That in turn improves all the dynamics throughout the range. If you dont have a vacuum system, clamping and then weights are the next most effective alternative.
