OK...here's where I'm supposed to tell you this amp bested my $3,000 Conrad-Johnson, but that I'm only selling it because the wife likes the look of the C-J better...or something like that, right? Wrong...I don't think this amp is "better" than my $3,000 Conrad-Johnson...and THAT'S why I'm selling it. What I CAN tell you is, it sounds much better than any amp in this price range has a right to! And I listen to a LOT of amps, of all prices.

That's why I tried this; because that's what I do. I constantly wonder "hmm...if this $1k W4S amp sounds better than my C-J, just think of all the money I could save"...lol. So...from time to time, I try expensive amps...I try inexpensive amps; I've heard a LOT. Again...this is as good as I've heard, at around $1k; depending on your system.

I'm not going to tell you this is for everyone. To me, the W4S does what it's designed to do...and it does it well; it takes a signal, doesn't embellish it at all...and pumps it out to your speakers with great power and control for its size, weight, and price. It doesn't add a lot of character of its own. Some people want that. Me, I like a little character in my system...so I would say this amp best matches a system where the pre-amp gives you a little flavor. In a system like that, I wouldn't want the power-amp also adding its own character.

Good detail, nice soundstage; you know the rest...125/220, without breaking so much as a sweat. Uses so little power at idle, leave it on all the time...and you never have to warm your system up for the music to sound its best. This one is in great shape; the guy I bought it from took great care of it, and I handled it gently for the brief audition.

Again...want to better this? You can; go ahead and shell-out $3-4k. Want solid performance, and BIG power for under $800; I don't think you can beat this. It's light, so buyer pays reasonable s&h. PP please add 3%. I'll add pics if need be...but you know this unit. Please...guys with under-powered AVRs and the like...see what you've been missing!
