Wyred 4 Sound, formerly Cullen Circuits, has been in business for many years and has manufactured amplifiers and other electronics for the following: PS Audio, Ampzilla, Infinity, Genesis, BGW, Camelot, CAT and many more. Now are you staring to get the picture?

Wyred 4 Sound amplifiers are only sold Internet direct, and I am the only distributor. What this means to you is that there are no dealer mark-ups, and therefore, these amps are being sold at about 1/2 to 1/3rd the price of competitive products with, in many cases, substantially higher parts quality.

I bought a 4-CH amp for use with my CS2's. It has two 250W modules and two 150W(?) modules. I have not had a chance to hook up the CS2's with it yet as I am still scrambling to find my extra XLR cables, but I AM running the 250W modules to drive my Greybeard KB/3/3's 4ohm nominal (90dB) and 20-20Khz flat response. These things are FANTASTIC. Also, at $2495 for a 4CH amp with THAT much power, you really can't go wrong.

As far as listening goes, so far, with my big Greybeards being driven by only 2CH of the amp, via the 250W modules, I am VERY impressed. Bass is thunderous and controlled. All Wyred 4 Sound mono amps have a unique buffer input circuit. In addition to sounding better than the basic input stage of the ICE amp it has an input impedance of 61K that makes it work properly with tube preamps as well as solid state. But, if you are using a tube preamp, the 10K or even 20K in balanced mode of the stock ICE amp is too low. This is indicative of the kind of care that has gone into the development of all Wyred 4 Sound amplifiers. We even had the new input stage specially designed for us by Bascom King. Bascom has done design work for many of the best hi-end brands in the business.

The SX-500 MKII has both balanced and single ended inputs. It features both short circuit and over current protection.

With distortion below 0.02% & a damping factor of 2000 sonics are exceptional. They have superb low level resolution, exceptional transparency and tremendous bass detail and extension. They sound better than the other 250 watt ICE based amps that have received Class A reviews all over the world. They are warmer and more organic. These amps come with a 3-year factory warranty.

These are mono amplifiers and the price is $899.00 for each amp. They can be sold in any quantity from 1 to 7 for a full 7-channel home theater system.
