Yamaha CD-S700 CD Player

The Yamaha CD-S700 Compact Disc Player includes a single CD tray and a USB port on the front panel for digital files. The fit and finish of this unit is impressive particularly the CD loader mechanism. The CD Precision Drive is one of the smoothest disc drives I have seen with near silent operation of the drawer. This is the same transport mechanism used on the top of the line $2500 Yamaha SACD player. This is a very musical player and would also make a wonderful CD transport feeding an outboard DAC. The unit is very solidly made. It has an aluminum front panel and gold-plated RCA terminals, digital output via toslink optical and rca coax, and a removable power cord.

The CD Player is fully functional and in great cosmetic condition. I looked the player over pretty well. There are no major flaws or scratches on the front of the player. Sorry for any finger print smudges in the pictures. There may be some hairline scratches on the top or sides of the player that I missed but nothing stood out in my inspection. The remote control shows signs of normal usage with some small imperfections. The unit is around 2 years old. It has basically gone from the box to my equipment rack and has spent its life there. I have transitioned to a computer based front end so it has gotten little use lately. The CD Player has always been in a smoke-free, pet-free, child-free home.
