The Pink Floyd multi channel release is the hottest SACD yet. dcs, the high end Italian company just introduced a D to A converter with USB input that includes DSD... Direct Stream Digital... the SACD format via USB. I have high up friends at Sony that confirm there are changes to bring SACD back to modernize it. Most recent SACD players are two channel only. Some allow multi-channel via HDMI into a home theater receiver. But all our good audio stuff does not have HDMI. And for those of you that hate multi channel, with drummers behind you I agree. BUT some of the 4 channel Chesky recordings and other classical with multi channel mixed right are TRUE.... YOU ARE THERE RECORDINGS. So... here is a very affordable high quality multi channel SACD player with 5.1 analog outputs. This Yamaha DVDS2300 (yes it plays DVDs too... and regular CDs) is built like a tank. It also plays DVD-Audio only discs. Crimson Tide just released a new DVD-A.
The DVD-A and SACD circuitry is completely independent. It also plays MP3s. Anti vibration construction insures proper rotation of the disc and improves sound quality. The heavy duty construction is also because of the heavy duty power supply and parts inside to make this machine reproduce wonderful high fidelity, detailed, analog like (real) sound quality. DVD-A and SACD playback with all video circuitry turned off. It uses a Dual laser Optical system.
