Yamaha NS-500M Monitor Pair Beryllium Dome Tweeter/Graphite Woofer

For Sale: Excellent Condition Yamaha NS-500M Studio Monitors These are not common and less common in this condition. The combination of components used in this speaker is unique in the Yamaha lineup. NS-500M Components: Tweeter - 5 cm Beryllium Dome JA-0544 Midrange - 10 cm Composite Dome JA-1214 Woofer - 30 cm Carbon Fiber Dome JA-3109 The carbon fiber 12" driver when in direct comparison to the NS-1000 cabinet makes MUCH deeper and more easily accessible bass. I have also heard one of the NS-1000M pairs with carbon fiber domes which also made much better bass than the paper versions. Also, this cabinet has a significantly larger volume than the NS-1000 for bass production. This is a very unique aspect of this speaker as the NS-1000M has consistently to me seemed bass shy! The tweeters are clear and sweet sounding. The composite dome mids are much more forgiving of source material than the beryllium mids of the NS-1000. The cabinets are in excellent condition. The only flaws here are several small 5mm holes in the grilles - 3 holes total count - and all lie over black plastic portions of the grille frames so are not obvious. Thanks for looking...!
