The HD Reference 2 (HD.Ref-2) is a state of the art, high definition, reference music server. It's modeled after the major label recording studio servers we've seen in today's digital recording set-ups. The Ref-2 is designed to be paired with a USB capable digital to analog converter (DAC) for the best possible performance. There are no left and right "RCA analog outputs" like a CD player. Although we can certainly add analog outs if that's what you're looking for!

We have omitted our various upgrades/ options on this model so we could create an affordable server that more folks out there could enjoy. There's no PCI digital audio output card or Blu-ray ROM. We supply your server with 8 GB of RAM and a 2 TB Hard Disc Drive. We don't offer any upgrades. If that's your cup of tea, you'll want to look at the Ref-2 Special Edition (HD.Ref-2 SE). Contact us for more details on the Ref-2 Special Edition. That being said, we feel our "base model" is substantially better than anything currently available. The HD Ref-2 is a true Giant Killer at an affordable price.

We publish our specs so you know you're not just getting a mini-ATX motherboard with a large capacity disc drive in a case that can be bought online at a computer e-tailor. Our servers will blow away the performance of ANY laptop OR music server currently on the market. If you're using a mini-ATX motherboard, you're getting dual-core processing at best with an on-board video solution and a lap-top power supply.

We provide customer support for any and every question you have. If you do run into ANY issues with your server, we can remotely log in to your machine and get you back to playing your music ASAP. Don't settle for a music server with only ONE playback software suite option. We provide multiple options for playback software and we'll help you with ANY suite you decide to use.
