Description

HiFi is at the computer, and i listen to the speakers at point-blank range.

When i walk around the room, i can hear tonal variations.
But at my listening position, i seem to be able to hear a good and even sound.

    • Dell M4700 (Laptop)
Using a Dell M4700 laptop, from my college days.
I have to keep it close to "shoo" the cat away when it sits on the keyboard.
Downside is that it somewhat blocks a speaker.

I'm running EqualizerAPO, using a toned-down vocal preset, to make my system a bit more forward.  I'm also using a VST called PSP Vintage Warmer, because i like what it does to the midrange.
    • Khadas Tone Board
This is a $100 DAC that I bought as it was rated highly on the audiosciencereview site.
I can't compare it to anything else as it was and is my first standalone DAC.
    • Yamaha PC2002 (power amplifier)
I restored this power amplifier with:
    - all new diodes
    - all new resistors (Takman REX with some Shinkoh, Ohmite, Amtrans, and Mills)
    - almost all new capacitors (highlights include Audio Note KAISEI, Mundorf, and for the film caps PPS film...to copy what the high-end Yamaha is using)
    - 4 out of the 5 bridge rectifiers have been upgraded with SiC diodes with 0ms delays
    - RCA input jacks added
    - transistor sockets cleaned and transistors reinstalled with SIL pads in place of paste
    - some other odds n ends transistors in the power supply.
    • Bryston Mini-T (speakers)
These speakers are my first foray into higher-end hifi, and cost me an arm and a leg.  They can do low bass.  I need to upgrade more components to see if they can do magical mids and highs (perhaps add a tube preamp).

thank you @shosugi .  I'm currently controlling volume using the windows volume slider in the lower-right hand corner.  I would like to get stands yes, and sit a bit further back and spread the speakers out more...and place out from the wall.
I don't have a preamp as yet but would like to save up for a Prima Luna or Audio Research tube preamp in the next year or so.

Very nice speakers - it is not easy to make the big decision to spend a lot of money on loudspeakers.

Later, if you can find a way to make some stands for the speakers, you can place in a possibly better spot in your room.

How are you controlling the volume level of music?  Do you have a preamp?
