Description

The system is built around the amazing Avantgarde Duo Omega G2's.  I rely exclusively on digital streaming from TIDAL and Qobuz (though I own thousands of LP's and CD's, I am convenience smitten).  A Roon Nucleus+ fed via hardwired ethernet at gigabyte speed delivers the bits to either the DAC3B or MiniDSP SHD's internal DAC (when using the SHD with DIRAC) Also seeing action are a Bespoke Custom VFet Preamp and  Benchmark LA4.  Amps include the venerable Aleph 60 monos, "new school" HYPEX NC400 monos,  PS Audio Stellar M1200's, or Willsenton R800i.

The sound is unbelievably dynamic, spacious, and transparent.  DIRAC is addictive and the kind of bargain one rarely encounters in hi-fi.

Always a work in progress, my second system includes ML Renaissance 15a's.

Thanks for the kind words.  I've since moved on the Martin Logan Renaissance (15A) speakers, but will always remember the AG Duo Omega G2's fondly.  :)

I’ve always wanted to hear those speakers…I hope they’re as magical as they look.
Beautiful system, and beautiful environment to listen to it in. You and your wife did a great job!

Thanks to all for the kind comments. The avant-garde horn speakers really are amazing.

With regard to DIRAC, I was an absolute doubter made faithful! I agree with the common above: Changes in the sound quality are exclusively for the better. Girac does correction in the time domain and the difference in imaging and the perceived volume of the sound stage is readily evident.

Best,

Very cool looking system! I also run a MiniDSP SHD for Dirac and as a crossover for my subs. I have spent a lot of mental energy worrying about what running my entire signal through the MiniDSP does to SQ. Every time I take it out and put it back, I feel that it's very passive and adding Dirac and the crossover (time correction) for my subs sounds great. I understand that converting analog to digital then back to analog is not passive, it's that I don't hear much influence from the process. More of us should try the MiniDSP for 1300 bucks. Anyway, I'd love to hear those horns!!

How does DSP workout for you? I like the idea of doing DSP for two channel listening.  Haven't done it,  yet.

Really cool speakers but can't see many of the components. I like the cabinet and the picture above it.
