So there’s a 15’x15’ bonus room in the basement, and that was the original music room. The carpet was added because we have a couple of dogs that love to play and when they get going, they’d fishtail around corners and slide into things and either hurt themselves or knock stuff down in the curio cabinet. The family room became music room two a couple of years later, so the carpet was a bonus.
Did you add the carpet for taking care of reflections? I am guessing that the Oak hardwood floor was "finished", unlike the wood boards we have? I have concrete underneath my carpet; so carpet discs are no issues. Have fun with the music - that's all that matters.
Thanks for the kind words. The reason I’m not using the carpet spikes is because I have Oak hardwood under the carpet and pad, and the spikes would scratch them or at the very least they would leave divots. When I told the dealer that my speakers weigh 132 pounds each, he said they’d leave marks.

Beautiful setup @curiousjim. Those are some nice speakers - should provide you all the details with great imaging and neutral sound. Based on personal experience replacing the granite with the carpet discs might make a substantial improvements in sound. If you check my system it has the exact similar "isoacoustic on granite". Last October I replaced the granite with carpet discs. I need to update my system pics.
