Description

I've been enjoying this hobby since 1985 and am mesmerized by all the audiophiles that I have talked with.  I've love music first and foremost, but I also love to listen to equipment as its so dam nice to look at.  I'm a big fan of Yamaha and Luxman as there equipment is so musical and enjoyable.  People like to call me the mid-fi guy, and thats cool with me, if they had low-fi, I'm good with that too.  Cheers

@baylinor , thanks for the comment. I really love the Japanese sound, love the make, and style.  Dont get me wrong, the Pass Lab and Mark Levison is great too.  Love your sound room.  I dont have a dedicated sound room, I have my EQ in two spaces.

@chriswilson , thanks for the comments.  The B&W and Silverline are two different speakers.  The 803 are 3way, and the Sonata II are 5way speakers.  Both sound spectacular.  With the Silverline using the Luxman 590, it sound great with detail, and neutral.  Very refine, not bright or fatiguing. The 803 are have great mids and vocal, and is easy to drive.  I would say the 803 have a greater bass output.  The fact that these speaekrs can be had for 2k or less is a steal.  I bought a pair of ELAC VELA BS403 and they are not in the same range as those 2 IMO.  I always thought of pair the Luxman with Zu Audio, but just feel those speakers look better than they sound.  Mind you the Soul6 or Soul Supreme is like 5k.  Enjoy the music my friend.

@sparrow , hi thanks for the comment.  Luxman is neutral, Yamaha has more colored and warmer sounding.  Both would work best for easy to drive speakers, they both push great sound.  The Luxman sound best with silk dome tweeters.  I listen to both system frequently, and would choose the Luxman over the Yamaha if I had to pick.  The Luxman build quality is > Yamaha, however, in the looks.  I think Yamaha looks sleeker and nicer.  I'll be holding on to these for a while.  Sound quality for seperates and integrated to me isn't that much of a difference IMO.
