Description

My listening room for more than 10 years where we enjoy many wonderful hours of music with family and friends.  Have moved into a new home and am working to recreate the experience.  Will undoubtedly take awhile.  In the meantime I can listen to great music through my headphones.

Thanks for the comment and question.  The SF Guarneri Mementos came with the stone bases from a nearby quarry to the factory.  I believe they are marble.  Here is a link to the 2007 Stereophile review.(https://www.stereophile.com/content/sonus-faber-guarneri-memento-loudspeaker)

The audio store where I purchased them (The Audio Gallery, Lake Oswego, OR) advised not to put spikes under them, as well as not to use spikes with the REL.  I was very happy with the sound and bass performance with the system set up in our home in OR.

When we moved from Oregon to the location for this music set up the REL and SF distributor came over and we spent the afternoon fine tuning everything.  With no spikes under any of the speakers we were able to achieve excellent base response and a very wide and deep soundstage.

In our new home I know it will take some time and patience to dial everything in again.

Great looking system!! What type of slabs are under your speaker stands? I recently put some quartzite slabs under my Heresy IVs (along with Herbie's Audio dots) and it made quite a difference. Bass is more tight and fast. It was a very effective tweak.

Thanks for the comment.  Yes, the soundstage in the room was really great.  What was really interesting to experience was turning the REL on and off.  The soundstage would just collapse.  My friends and I couldn't believe it at first.  I had read about this in all the magazines but to actually demonstrate and hear it in your own system was surprising.

The system represents 45 years of reading and 6 years of buying after the kids finished university.  85% of the system is either demo or used.  Working with a local audio store I was able to upgrade the Siltech loom to it final form.

Thanks again for viewing and commenting.

Dave,
That was an excellent and open layout. I bet music would sound so spacious in that layout. Hope you can recreate this in your new home. Good luck!
