noromance the cloth keeps the dog fur away. The components are kept covered also when they're not on.My secondary hobby is vacuuming. My listening buddies are a German Shepherd and a Siberian Husky.

The cloth over the Zu speaker? That bright?

Never thought I would do this, but adding the API equalizer as a good decision. Adjusting the midrange on overly compressed recordings cleans up the entire presentation. Bypass for all others.

Just added a third sub, an SVS Pro 1000.The app is wonderful. Fine tuning from the listening chair:-)70hz room mode be gone!

Need some new pictures. New pre,new speakers added this year. Spent the last six months tweaking to get the very fussy Zus to deliver their best. Sooo sensitive to minor changes. A learning curve for sure.

Excellent tweak for Zu speakers. Damping the whizzer cone eliminates the grainyness. Experimented with paper and fabric and settled on fluffy yarn wrapped around the phase plugs about half its length pressing against the cone. It's unubstusive and it works like a dream.

Just spent more $ than I wanted on a TWL power cord for my amp,the 'Obsession'.Well worth it,big sigh of relief!!The nuance and inner detail I'm hearing....from a freakin pc.The Cabledynes and Audio Envys are still very good, quiet, clear cords. But this one is like upgrading a component.

@milpai sorry I don't check here often! The Audio Envy are incredibly good sounding for the $.They are not highly detailed but have a wonderful tone and timbre. The OCC copper always sounds great no matter what brand.I'm still using the power cords.

Hello,
Good call on the GIKs. I find them very effective. Interesting how you have staggered them in the corner.
I read you mentioned in a thread that you recently got the Audio Envy cables. How do they perform Vs the Analysis Plus and Cabledyne cables that you own? Can you describe them?

The new subs are the icing on the cake. The bass has more texture, naturalness, and three dimensionality.

Just found an excellent deal on two more subs to put together my 'swarm'!They should arrive tomorrow.Barring an equipment failure I'm content that my system is DONE.Tweaks only from now on.

Added a second SVSsb1000 sub  yesterday.Sounds fantastic! It is pretty cool to hear the room reflections begin to clear up.I really want to add two more to make a "swarm" down the road.

GIK pics are up finally:)I have 12 panels so I could have tons of flexibility. Now that I'm familiar with the best placement - what works best is heavy bass trapping in the front corners and center:7-8 inches thick from ceiling down to 2-3 feet above the floor. The back wall corners have 6" .More than that deadens the sound.A 2" panel behind the listening position takes care of reflections.A thicker panel behind also deadens the sound.2" is perfect.
The speakers are toed in to fire into the panels front and back and the panels behind the equipment and listening position capture first reflections. It took me several weeks of moving panels and speakers to get it dialed in.Others may need to capture reflections on the side walls but it has no effect on this room.Hanging them from the ceiling had no effect either(thank God!It looked awful!)

Just installed some GIK bass traps in each corner.Immediately tamed the bass boom that the Tektons were kicking out.Now to experiment with the other four panels at various reflection points and see if I can fine tune the room.Three  2" thick panels and one 7" thick " monster trap".

Update:New speakers are Tekton Impact Monitors.New amp is Aric Audio Transcend Push Pull with Cabledyne Synergy pc.Pics to come:)

Hey Lowrider! They do sound nice, and the soundstage is huge if I pull them out a little farther in the room.I can't leave them out where they sound best because the left one would be right in front of a bedroom door. The stands are 48" high simply to keep them safe from my German Sheperd's nose.In theory they should sound better at ear level, but I tried them that way also and there wasn't a big difference. They will play very loud with no distortion, they don't dip below 4ohms throughout their frequency range and have a 90db sensitivity. They sound fantastic with the Quickie amps.Better then the more powerful ss amps they replaced.

jtcf

I'll bet the Sunfire CRM2s sound nice...how well do they fill a room that size and how is the soundstaging?
Also, how high are the stands and how did u arrive at that height?
