    • Sonore System Optique Signature Rendu SE
As good as the Aesthetix Pandora Eclipse sounds I was not prepared for the inprovement associated with putting the Signature Signature Rendu in the system.

Blackest background I have ever experienced and vocal realism and explosive expansion of the soundstage that I would not have thought possible.
The improvement was/is simply jaw dropping.  Highly recommended.
    • Aesthetix Pandora Eclipse
Resulted in the single largest performance increase I have had in my 30 plus years of tweaking.  This replaced the Pandora standard version which is also an exceptional unit but the Eclipse version does not sound like an upgrade.....it sounds and performs like a completely different dac.  I am very surprised there has yet to be a review of this unit but when it shows up I expect to see 5 stars.  I was going to send in my Standard model for the Signature upgrade but right befor contacting Aesthetix to arrange it the Eclipse version with volume control showed up so was able to swing it with the sale of the Pandora Standard.  I also sold the Aethetix Calypso Signature preamp as the dac is my only source and the optional volume control in the Pandora eliminates the need for a preamp unless you are connecting multiple sources to your setup.
    • LTA Z40+ Integrated Amplifier
This tubed integrated offers fatigue free listening sessions and captures vocal nuances that deliver an emotional connection to the music that makes it difficult to shut down the system. Highly Recommended!
    • Dynaudio Confidence 20
Integrates perfectly into my smallish, (12x10) listening room.
    • Acoustic Zen Absolute Zero Crystal Silver Speaker Cable
    Done here.
    • Kimber Kabel Select KS-1116
Use these between the Aesthetix Pandora Dac and the LTA z40+ Integrated amplifier.
    • Furman SPR 20 I
Every bit the equal to my ears with the PS Audio Premier which was sent in for a $500 repair once and failed again recently which was about 2 years after the initial repair.  I could have had it repaired for another $500 but trashed it and ended up with the Furman piece.

Hello Ken, do you still have the same gear? I just got the Harbeth 30.1 Anniversary and thinking of adding a sub. How do you like the integration with the REL T9? Have you tried other subs? Thanks!

I might have to travel to your neck of the woods to check out your system! LOL

Mattkimb96,
What made you go with the Aestheix Calypso?
I'm looking at the Pass X-20 Or the Asstheix Calypso Signature. I'm also using a Pass Amp that's really a X250.5

Hi Ken

I'be been working with Jam quite a bit now and he really is amazing. Have you gone to the Signature Calypso route yet, or have stayed with the base model.

Cheers

Hi Ken,

Do you notice any difference with the woofer speaker grills off?

Hi, very nice setup. I am entertaining swapping my pre-amp to try a tube pre with HT pass through. I am curious if you did much comparison before purchasing the calypso? If so what did you try?

System edited: Added the Ayre C5-X to the system and that in conjunction with the Aesthetix Calypso that was added about a year ago have moved me into the done for now category. Extremely musical and engaging and the HT performance has more than enough "jump" factor, (how many times one jumps off the couch) for both me and the kids. System is about 75% two channel and 25% movies & HD sports broadcasts.

Hi. As far as I remember you swapped from V-5xe to V-1xe ? Is the difference really that noticeable?
Rgds.
