Description

I am happy with the system.  I play only vinyl, hence no digital.  The system reflects my preferences for resolution without being etched or too forward.

After adding the GR Research subs, I am so happy with the sound.  I feel like the sound is what I want.

@jaytor Thank you! I really enjoyed building these and I’m glad for all the people who put their expertise on the internet so I could learn from them.

Very nice! You did a beautiful job on those GR subs. They look great with the maggies and I bet they mate really well. I'm also a fan of Danny's creations which you can see on my system page.

@mytthor Thank you!  I bought the 3.7 after I owned 1.6.  I do love the transparency of the Maggies, too!  I will definitely keep the vinyl spinning!

@joel_hifi Thank you!  I appreciate the nice words.  The Wilson Benesch Full Circle goes back many years!  I have owned many different TT over the years including different models from  VPI and Clearaudio.  The WB does a very good job of balancing price and performance.  I’ve always wanted to try their speakers in my systems, but alas Maggie’s are where I seem to have settled and I am more than okay with that.

mscetal

Very nice. I really enjoy listening to the larger Maggies. They have an effortless sound. I like the rack, too; I have a Zoethecus as well. Keep that vinyl spinning!

Bob, awesome system!

Excellent speakers and careful amp matching + the bass panels must do their job. Not familiar with your TT (only know their speakers, used to own a pair WB Arc monitors) but I'm sure it's up there with the rest of your system :)

Above all this amazing Aikido design pre, congrats on the execution,  it must sound absolutely great!

Best,
Joel

@laserjock1963 I built the Aikido based on its great reviews and never expected the finished product to sound so good.  I can only take credit for the design of the cabinet.  I local carpenter built the three sided maple frame and a local laser engraver did the laser engraving.  I like how it turned out, too.

I would happily share a listen after this pandemic is over.

@archguy The half curtains are for our sanity!  The dogs feel the need to bark at every dog passing by and in this ‘hood, it amounts to every few minutes!

Owner
@jond Thanks!  I do like the system as a whole.

mscetal

Looks nice. That Aikido face looks so cool.

Would love to hear how it sounds.

Well the half curtains surely help with acoustics too but as a dog lover I feel they need to keep an eye on the street to know what's going on in the 'hood ;)

It's amazing how much less imposing the 3.7's are in those white grill cloths and wood accents. A really cool system with some great pieces.

Thanks, @tubegb!  I also liked the diamond windows when we found this place!  I cover the lower half to keep the dogs from barking at every passerby :)

mscetal

A beautifully executed system and love the retro diamond windows as backdrop.

Thanks, @archguy!  I believe that Magnepan makes the DWM with beige cloth, I just bought the black version from a local guy to give it a try and I like what it does for the system.

mscetal

Now there's a system I'd love to hear.  Those Maggies are on my shortlist.  And your TT is out of this world.  Magnepan need to make a DWM with a beige grille.

Best of all--a pleasant view rather than a TV
