Thank you Jmalen123. I find this system an enjoyable listening experience with well recorded modern recordings. I don't own any new music per se, but hear it on various apps.

Your system looks like it is very "musical" and the room looks very comfortable and inviting. Any new music sounding particularly good on that system? My new love is...Madison Cunningham. Her album Revealer is fantastic. This forum is such a great way to find interesting music, I can barely keep up.

I really like your system! Speakers look really nice with everything else. Has nice theme with it :). I will have to check out Mystere amp!

Yes Chris, I did use these speakers like that. Combo was an AES (Cary) DJH preamp w/ Pass Labs Aleph 30 power amp. Was superb and one of my best systems. I also used w/ Cary's AES Superamp2 tube power amp and was as well quite superb. Cary used to offer their Silver Oak speakers using Seas Excel drivers so they do well powered by tube amplification.

talk to me about those speakers with tubes. I am considering a tube preamp and my speakers use Seas excel tweeters and midranges. I would still probably have a solid state amp, have you ever used them in a combo like that? Have you used those with solid state gear as well?

Thanks to all for the positive encouraging comment. Make me know I'm on the right track.

To Stereosanity, the Mystere is quite a special amp for the price. Sound is clean and clear, with toe tapping rhythm, and tight articulate bass.
To a lesser degree, what I imagine past Audio Research sounds like from what I've read...I've never owned AR and could be wrong .
