I have owned and used an Audio Research SP11, Mk 2 since 1988. Over the years,
there have been times when I have experimented with many types of tubes
'"tube rolling." I would now like to sell the tubes that I have
accumulated, which have been stored and unused for years. I also have
some spare input and driver tubes that I have used in my VTL monoblock
amps.
Here is what I have. The number of each type is in parentheses:

Most of these tubes had very little, if any, use, as I was
searching for the ones that I liked most in my system. Since I did not
keep track of how much use they each had, however, I don't feel comfortable
making representations regarding how much use each have had. I do not
have a "tube tester." Generally, I believe the tubes that have
more hours on them than the others were the original ARC 6DJ8 tubes, the Golden
Dragon 6DJ8/ECC88 tubes and the Telefunken ECC83 tubes. The others, I
believe, had much less use. I wish I could provide more information on use, but
that is the best I can do. I'm selling them "as
is."
There are 98 tubes in total. I would like to sell them in one
lot so as to avoid the hassle numerous smaller shipments. As to pricing, it was
very hard for me to determine prices. Some of the tubes (Siemens and Telefunken
for example) appear to demand very high prices. Others can be bought new for
$15-20. If there were all new, it looks to me as if they would cost
somewhere about $3,000-4,000 (mostly because of the 4 or 5 more expensive
brand tubes . But this is just a rough estimate.
I would sell all of them in one batch for $1200 -or for the best offer. I will
also consider offers for a subset of the whole set, but in that event would
probably be a little less flexible on price. I will pay shipping if you buy
them all, but not if you only want a few.
I am aware that tubes are a VERY complicated subject, present lots of issues
(including origin and authenticity) and I don't really know much about the
subject. I really don't want to misrepresent anything. I am representing only
what I can see from the face of the tubes themselves. I have included pictures,
but I can't seem to post them all. I will be happy to send more if need.
