Classe CP-50 preamplifier

I happily owned this Canadian beauty until a change of venue required new (and somewhat less satisfying) equipment. Sound quality is transparent, it is easy to set up and use and the unit is in very good condition, with but one barely perceptible scratch on the top. I have the original packing material, owner's manual and remote. The optional phono unit is not installed.

Purchasers should note that the mute button functions as the off switch but the power does not go off completely right away. Instead, the unit powers down after mute has been engaged for a while. If you keep the volume on with no input signal, you may hear a hum through your speakers. The hum is eliminated entirely by pressing the mute button, which you should always do when it is idling. Turning the volume knob or any other control function turns the unit "on" again.
