I bought this cartridge from Audiogon cartridge seller, Greg (grgaudio) in October, 2016 with 20 hours use since "Optimized Contour Nude Contact Line Diamond" retip by Peter of the SoundSmith. This is a $450 service, and the DV XX-1H solid boron cantilever (which many prefer over ruby) was not changed. I added 5 lps of play upon receiving the cartridge then stored it. I'd previously used another DV XX-1H that had been serviced with SoundSmith ruby cantilever/optimizedcontour nude line contact diamond, and this one with the original solid boron cantilever with SS diamond retip sounds more refined and lifelike.
This is the HOMC version of the DV XX-1, and the best HOMC Dynavector ever made. It is the percursor of the DV XX-2, now only made in LOMC and costing $1995. The XX-1 carts were the first with Dynavector's "magnetic flux damper" technology. This can be switched on/off, with this switch apparently added to demonstrate the effectiveness of the technology - it should be kept "on" for best performance.
