I am listing a audio rack 3 shelf, shelfs are made out of maple, legs are made out of walnut. These stands are made 1 at a time in my small shop here in the mountains of Pickens county South Carolina, just up the road from AudioGoN in Greenville S.C., Due to shop space i have no room to store extra inventory, so i must make 1 at a time. average turnaround is 2 to 3 weeks, shipped, these stands are not stained, i use shellac then lacquer which provide a near perfect finish, then hand rubbed with Bri wax to give it a nice natural gloss, that lets the wood shine through, that you can feel. The Wood, I do not use little slivers glued together like a cutting board, i do not care for that look, although most high end racks use this method i do not, at most there is 2 or 3 boards carefully cut and glued, i try to grain match as best as possible, the end result is a much nicer rack to compliment your components. The Sound, i am 60 years old, have been an audiophile since i was 14. I have worked for 2 Mcintosh dealers, 1 in Va. Beach Va. and the other here in Greenville S.C. doing mostly custom installs. i have learned that the best vibration killer is solid wood, i have heard it and seen it all. If your rack has metal in it, that is your vibration weak point, i have had racks that were even filled with sand it was heavy, but still had that vibe. the only draw back with my racks are they are not adjustable, for sound deading purposes i make them ridged and strong, no threaded rod will ever be used. no metal spikes to mark up your floors, the sound improvement is dynamic, bass is lower and mids and highs are crisper and cleaner, if you are a bass fan you can push the bass a lot farther with this stand. Please look at the pictures as these are what you will receive, only difference is the wood, which i hand pick each piece. Shipping this stand is heavy i estimate over 200Lbs, thats a lot of wood, i have to buy or make a custom sized pallet then build protective ends, and shinkwrap the hole thing, then build a wooden box around the whole thing, it would have to sent freight only, and i would highly recommend you have a couple strong friends, my best guess would be $300.00 plus, depending, on where you live. Again i only make 1 at a time, so please contact me through this site and ill let you know how and if I'm backed up. As you can see in the pictures i also build turntables, the Thornes in the pictures is my latest, if you would like something truly different, get in touch with me, that table weighs in at 78lbs. Size of the rack 52 1/2 inch long, 21 inchs wide( Shelf) 371/2 inch high, about 141/2 inches between shelves. enough room for even the largest of amps. Also i just added some amp stands please check my other listings. the ones on my stand are of prototype and will be finished like the stands, also if you need a special size, or even 4 shelfs message me and ill send you a quote. i also do amp stands in maple or walnut, with hand turned maple feet. I am not a big company that has many people working on your stand, i do all the cutting fitting sanding and finishing. My son helps out with a lot of heavy lifting, but for the most part i do it all, the old fashion way, by hand. please check my feed back and buy with confidence, thanks Mike

The racks are fully assembled when delivered, correct? Hi David thanks for the interest in my stands, Yes they are fully assembled, these stands are very heavy, and each shelf can weigh up to 70 to 80 lbs. so if during assembly if you dropped one one yours or someones foot, yea it wouldn't be good. also i make them rigid for sonic purposes and the safety of your components, which can be quit heavy. if you have any more questions or need more pictures my email is [email protected] my cell phone # is 864 650 5983, thanks again, Mike |
