NOTE: If you want this unit converted to 110 volts, I can get it done by the manufacturer at my own cost.
I am selling a mint (almost new) Technics 1200G. It comes with the terrific Time-Step audio analog power supply upgrade. This upgrade has been considered a must-have among the reviewers for the 1200G. The default power supply of 1200G is a cheap SMPS based PSU. It adds a kind of hash to the music and makes the TT sound brighter and CD like. Time-Step audio has been designing PSUs since many years for various Technics TT. They have been recommended by the UK Technics dealers and in fact the UK dealers demonstrate the 1200G with a time-step PSU in their showrooms. This is an external PSU which is attached via an umblical cord to the 1200G. The entire modification was done by Time-Step Audio. With this upgrade the 1200G is now crazily close to the SP10 Mk3.
It comes with the Technics Magnesium tonearm which is actually fantastic. I have compared it to some very good $3k tonearms at home and it is as good as any of them so there is actually no need to upgrade the tonearm. With a quality MC cartridge this TT shows serious resolution and dynamics. Up there with anything up to $20k.
I am rating the condition as 10/10 as it is absolutely like-new/mint.
I have all the original box, manuals and accessories. I will ship worldwide and accept Paypal.
Questions for the seller |
---|
Hello ... I own a 1200GAE. I love the deck. Was there much of a difference after you added the Timestep modifications? Would you recommend them? I saw only one reviewer who praised the mod. Why are you selling? Thanks in advance. I think it is a solid upgrade. It makes the TT much more silent and fluid sounding like analog should. The highs take on a natural openness which otherwise sounds a bit cd like. |
