I've changed the auction terms, so get a great deal, which you can.
Vincent Fully Balanced Tube Preamplifer in black with a black remote control. The remote controls inputs and volume.
This is a beautifully built, great sounding preamplifier competitive with modern day units costing $6,000. I know because I compared it to one of these. Smooth, dimensional, but modern sound, without the mushiness some tube preamps bring to the party. As one might expect, the midrange is beautiful, but not at the expense of the frequency extremes. I was given this preamp as payment for a bunch of high end equipment I sold for a customer of mine. I've used it for about 6 months and would keep it, but it's not a product I sell, so it will go to a new appreciative home.
It comes with four JJ ECC82 GP's and three TAD 7025WA's, as well as a power cord and remote control. Outside of some, but not all NOS tubes, these sound the best. The manual, as well a a review done by Dick Olsher in 2009, say a different tube compliment than what the preamp actually uses and this was apparently the last iteration of the preamp before Vincent went SE, only. I believe the tube compliment changed over some amount of time, but the tubes that are in it now, are the correct ones, borne out by the way the preamp sounds, as well as tube labeling on the circuit boards. Vincent quit making balanced preamps, most probably due to the cost of manufacturing preamps like this one. This is a fully balanced preamp and not a transformer derived balanced preamp. It weighs 25 lbs in its box.
The unit is from 2012 and is perfect working condition. It comes with the original packaging.
I've rated it an 8 due to some very small blemishes which I could not protograph. It's in really nice condition.
US sales only and shipper must pay insurance based on full sales price By the way, the screws connecting the top plate to the chassis are Torx screws.
The smudge in one of the pictures is a photograph artifact and isn’t there in person. Tube dampers as shown are included.
