Yamaha R-S300

This is an amazing receiver produced by Yamaha.  For far too long, Yamaha had faded from one of the preeminent producers of fine audio equipment to mass-producers of junk [same sad story as too many of the iconic brands throughout the 90s & 2000s]. However, in about 2012, Yamaha recommitted itself to restoring its quality & stature as producers of elegant, natural sound.  This series of receivers played a key roll in Yamaha’s return to glory.

This unit was their entry level receiver, which I purchased new in 2015, and I conservatively rate at 9/10.  Look at the photos – it is near mint!  At that time, this line of receivers was Yamaha’s return to producing dedicated audio receivers, versus the relatively compromised A/V models. This unit can be run in several configuration: 2-channel stereo, 2.1 stereo + subwoofer & even as a bi-wire for appropriately configured speakers.  It produces a robust 50w/channel and has multiple capabilities above & beyond the run-of-the-mill receiver. 

Inputs include a true tape loop, mult analog inputs, a CD direct feature, an MM phono input [how long has it been since you have seen a receiver with an MM phono input?] & a Yamaha exclusive – the iPod/iPad/iPhone dock, the YDS-12.  The YDS-12 was an approximate $100 add-on that I am including at no additional charge. It permits direct connection of a 30-pin Apple device [or a newer lightning cable device with appropriate adaptor] to the R-S300 for playback.

The sound is classic Yamaha!  Crisp & powerful, yet detailed & natural.  More than enough power to drive most any speakers to fill a small to moderate sized room.

I will use the actual size and weight of the boxed R-S300 to calculate S&H on the UPS website & full insurance will be required.  I will only charge you the amount provided by the UPS website – if that estimate is dramatically more than it ends up actually costing, I will refund the difference to you.  I prefer to ship via UPS <if you demand FedEx, I can arrange that>, but due to previous experiences, I will NOT ship it USPS. However, if you live in central Arkansas or are willing to drive to here & wish to meet me to exchange the amp for cash <or if you have made prepayment>, you could save the S&H.
