Hello, I'm selling my McCormack Power Drive DNA-1 Power Amplifier. The amplifier needs no introduction and I gather your reading this because you already know about the DNA-1's legendary performance, and sound quality. The reputation is very well deserved; The DNA-1 is a gem in all of audio, even to this day. It can drive any speaker you own from old school Apogee Scintillas to Maggies to Dunlavy's (my SC-V's), to vintage Klipsch's to modern EgglestonWorks, B&W's, Wilson Audio, Kef's, etc.

My DNA-1 started life as a factory configured mono/balanced amplifier. It has had a long life and now has a new lease on life. It recently went to the technician's shop to have the amplifier gone through. This entailed cleaning, replacing parts, adjusting bias, calibrating the electronics and returning the amplifier back to factory stereo operation. The work was done by a competent, well known professional technician (who is a former Threshold Audio technician). It's now back to being a standard (not Deluxe) 2-Channel, stereo amplifier.

The amplifier sounds great and has been driving my Dunlavy SC-V's for a few weeks. It does so with ease and grace producing great sound. Your probably asking, "if it sounds so good, why are you selling it?" Valid question...and the honest answer is the DNA-1 runs on the warm side, which in my ill ventilated audio room gets uncomfortably warm after a few hours of listening. This is the reason I'm selling this classic. I've replaced it with a Wyred 4 Sound STI-500v2 Integrated Amplifier, Class-D amplifier which is much more efficient, but doesn't necessarily sound better! Go figure.

Checkout the condition in the pictures. The amplifier is well used, has some scratch's, and some paint rubbed off the back plate and various places on the chassis. The chassis is clean and free of major dents and dings. See the pics for detail.

Thanks for listening to me ramble. Cheers.
