Diva Audio M-7
This is a purist pre-amp based on the Marantz Model #7. It was made in Singapore by TS Lim. One input, one output, one gain reduction switch, one volume control, point to point wiring, outboard tube rectified power supply connected by dedicated cable. This pre allows a variety of 12AX7 variants for tube rolling. Right now it comes with 3 matched Mullard CV4024/12AT7 ’s and a Phillips 5R4GYS (from Kevin at Upscale Audio). All tubes have approximately 150 hours on them.
This is a very pristine and communicative pre-amp. I have used it intermittently over the years and it functions as new.

| The ones I see on line seem to use solid state power supplies, what's the difference between them and this one, if any? Hiya Ray. This one has a tube rectified power supply. Many tube affcicionados prefer the quality of tube rectification, I do. SS rect. generally has more drive rather than liquidity. For example the better Audio Note pre's are tube rect. Other than that, the 3 preamp tubes are just wired together differently than the newer SS version. |
