I purchased this cartridge as a NOS item two years ago, and played about 5 record sides just to ascertain that it played perfectly. Since that time, I have acquired a strain gauge phono system, and so I am selling my remaining non-strain gauge cartridges.
The EDR.9 is the most advanced cartridge that Empire ever manufactured. This cartridge has an extremely rare original EDR.9 LAC stylus which is in excellent shape, as seen in the photos. The cartridge tracks beautifully. This is a true classic of the analog era, and it is extremely rare to find a genuine EDR.9 in such excellent condition.
Note: just the cartridge and box / accessories are for sale. The headshell is for display purposes only and is not included. The cartridge is guaranteed to be functional (good suspension, good stylus, both channels functioning), and to appear as pictured. Since this is a delicate item, I cannot accept returns for any other reasons other than not being as described.
I have rated the item as an 8/10 merely because of the manufacturing date. Overall the cartridge is in excellent condition, and sounds AMAZING ! The suspension is solid as a rock, it tracks beautifully, and the stylus is pristine !
