First off this thing is massive. It weighs 60+ lbs. In 2002 it retailed for $4,200. This should speak volumes enough. It has tons of clean power and sounds great with no matter what you throw at it. The OSD and customization options are those that even most modern receivers don't have. The 8 channel multi-channel inputs make it 100% future proof and will still kick the behinds of most modern receivers below the $2,000 price range. So long as you have a Blu-Ray player that can internally decode the new sound formats and output 8 channel analog (not too rare of a feature). This was the model that Pioneer based their following lines of receivers after. This is the absolute best that they offered in the early to mid 2000s. And the sound reflects that. Hi-bit sampling, Per-channel 192/24 Burr Brown DACs, 32 bit DSP, and dual 24bit Motorola processors (hybrid 48 Bit) give this receiver features that even some modern receivers don't. Honestly, this receiver is fantastic.
