Up for sale is one pair of Brand New in the Box (NIB) UTC P-1 Professional P series
MC/MM Step Up / Mic / Input transformers in octal plug-in base.

I have carefully matched
Each Pair with the Signal Generator and an oscilloscope. These are the
best MC/MM transformers available without breaking your bank!

I have 3 Pairs for sale but the Buy It Now Price is for One Pair (Qty 2) of P-1 Transformers Only.

The pictures show that I have 3 pairs plus a single one (Qty 7) but the price is for One pair (Qty 2).

I
am showing the pictures of 7 transformers because I want the buyers to
see all are new units with original boxes. The original boxes look crisp
and clean. They have been
stored in a dry SoCAL home for more than 50 years!

Each P-1 is in the original box wrapped in the
original Kraft paper from UTC since made in the 60s. Each UTC P-1 dons a very
attractive looking UTC P-1 metal badge on the top as seen in the pictures.

Each transformer is carefully tested with the AC
Source using a function generator and an oscilloscope. Then, it is checked again
on the impedance analyzer for the open / short turns on both the primary and
secondary winding. I have recorded the test results before packaging them back
in the original UTC boxes.

I don't use ohmmeter or digital
multi-meter to
measure the DC resistance on the coils since the DC current from
ohmmeter could temporarily magnetize the transformer core and can
arguably effect the sound of these input transformers. Of
course, you should not use ohmmeter on them as any knowledge T/T guy
would NOT too.

These are High Fidelity transformers with very
wide bandwidth from 30Hz-20KHz according to the UTC data printed on the boxes.

UTC
Data from 1970 UTC Catalog quoted the frequency response is within +1dB
and -1dB for the quoted 30Hz-20KHz. You can't find a better made MC MM
transformer than this for this given size!

"P" series units are identical to the UTC Ouncer units but are sealed in
bakelite housings with plug-in base to fit in the standard octal socket.  While of
submersion proof design, these units weight but two ounces.  Oversize pins in
the base make it impossible to dislodge these units from their sockets.



Size 1 3/32 diameter, 1 15/32 height, standard octal socket, 2 oz unpacked.


Primary has low impedance of 50Ohm or 200/250/300Ohm or
500/600Ohm impedance but no permissible DC allowed.



Secondary has 50KOhm (50,000) impedance which is ideal for MC / MM step-up use.



They were made here in the Good Old U.S.A!
