All in all, if you are looking for a true all tube, vintage, valve rectified studio preamp this is a great friendly priced unit to own.

Ok, cosmetically speaking, what you see here is what you get. 

This model is very vintage and it has some shelf wear scuffs, and dings exactly as pictured.

I have a lot of experience shipping gear and I will pack this item very carefully and it will be shipped with tracking service and signature confirmation of delivery.

This unit was just tested thoroughly.  

I am pleased to say that all of it's all functions are working great! 

Also, this unit comes with it's original power cord.

 Both of the panel meters (Left and Right) function properly and all of the unit's many indicator lights shine brightly.

Currently, this Sony SRA-3 has all of the original factory installed tubes on board. Personally, I think these original tubes still sound really good. However, as an added value to this purchase I am including a complete, brand new set of new replacement tubes for this amplifier.

- 2 x GENERAL ELECTRIC 6AU6A Preamplifier Tubes (These are new old stock unused vintage USA made tubes.)

- 2 x ELECTRO HARMONIX 12AT7 EH/ Ecc81 Tubes (Brand New Mint in box current production tubes)

- 1 x GENERAL ELECTRIC 12BH7-A Preamplifier Tube (New Old USA made tube - valve Made on Mullard Equipment/tooling)

- 1 x RAYTHEON 6X4 Tube (New old Stock/Unused USA Made Rectifier Tube with Black Plates)

- 1 x Pdf Copy of Users Manual (delivered via e-mail immediately after payment is received.)

- 1 x Pdf Copy of Service Manual (delivered via e-mail immediately after payment is received.)

It is worth mentioning the following things about this item:

- the serial number for this model is #1827 and from what I understand there were around 4000 Sony SRA-3 Recording Amplifiers made.

- The sony SRA-3 has Stereo Phono inputs for a stereo Magnetic type Turntable Cartridge/Stylus. These inputs are set to RIAA Equalizer curves.

- This unit's front end 1/4" (left + Right) Inputs are also compatible with other 9pin double triode tubes.

This means that If you want MORE GAIN from your input signal you can choose to install 12AX7 12AD7 5751 or 7025 type tubes in the Left and Right front end input tube sockets.

Alternatively, If you would like LESS GAIN you can choose to operate the Sony SRA-3

with 12AU7 5963 6189 5814 5814a type tubes in place of the stock 12AT7 tubes.

Moreover, if you would simply like to experiment with different tonalities you can also use 12AV7 5965 12AZ7 6211a or 6201 tubes in lieu of the stock 12AT7 tubes.
