I am the original owner of this Sony HAP-S1.  Bought it about 3-1/2 years ago and used it as the front end to my home stereo.  Recently upgraded to a Bel Canto DAC so I am selling the Sony.  

The Sony HAP-S1 has outstanding sound quality at this price point.  I recently sent this unit to Sony’s authorized repair shop to fix the “horizontal white line” issue in the display.  This is an issue with some HAP S1 and HAP Z1ES units.  They replaced the displayand performed full function tests.  All functions and features are fully functional.  (To Sony’s credit, they absorbed all costs of the repair even though the unit is well outside the warranty period). 

The unit is in excellent condition.  No smoke exposure. 

Original box, packing inserts, remote control and owner’s manuals (both Quick Start Guide and Reference Guide) included.  Asking $565 plus $35 for shipping via FedEx Home Delivery (insured with signature required).  Shipping in the continental USA only.  I will double box the unit for safe shipping.  PayPal - add 3%.  I reserve the right to decline offers from members with no feedback, negative feedback or very limited feedback.
