Lamm Industries LP2 Deluxe Tubed Phonostage (Excellent/Original Owner/Low Hours/OBM/Extras)

Hello again, fellow Audiogoners!

Today, I have something very very special item for sale. My excellent condition Lamm tubed LP2 Deluxe phonostage has served me flawlessly for 4 years. I purchased it directly from a Lamm dealer out of Texas.

It comes from a non-smoking, no kids, no pets household. I pretty much set it up and left it in the rack for four years after I purchased it in September of 2015. I cannot see any marks or blemishes on it at close inspection. Still, since I am very particular about gear, I will give it a very conservative 8/10 rating.

I have had the unit checked by one of the most experienced high-end audio technicians in Ontario, Canada. He gave it a clean bill of health and also tested all the tubes (all OEM from the factory) which still have plenty of life left in them. I spun vinyl about 2 to 3 hours every weekend, so conservatively there are 500 hours on the tubes and at the high end about 650 hours.

I am including the factory manuals and the HiFi Supreme fuse. I did not receive a power cable with this unit, and I would certainly suggest that if you are in the market for such a top-level phonostage you will likely not use a generic power cable! So, why am I selling? Well, I am simplifying my life and going with an integrated amp that has a built in phonostage; I simply had too many class A tubed components in a small cramped downtown condo and while the sound was divine the heat and cost of electricity have been a real drain on my overall enjoyment. :(

This unit has a ridiculously quiet noise floor for a tubed unit. I used a Dyanvector XX2 Mk. II, Shelter 501 Mk. III and, most recently, a Transfiguration Phoenix S. All are low output MC cartridges from 0.2 millivolts to 0.4 millivolts and the Lamm handled them all with aplomb. The unit is built like a tank and the Deluxe version has a thick steel plate on the bottom for additional dampening. The unit can be easily configured to 240v operation, so the unit is available to be shipped worldwide.

The last MSRP on this was $7790 USD for the Deluxe version. I am asking $4000 USD, FIRM. I will eat the cost of PayPal. However, the buyer will be responsible for shipping. The unit is very heavy and comes packed in a wooden crate. FedEx would be the only safe mode of transportation for this.

Here are a few salient points:

Rated Output Voltage F = 1KHz:

MM input to output 0.125 Volts RMS.

MC input to output 0.125 Volts RMS.

Voltage Gain F = 1KHz:

MM input to output 75.5 + 2% or 37.65 + 0.2dB.

MC input to output 750 + 2% or 57.5 + 0.2dB.

RIAA Accuracy from 20 Hz – 20 KHz: better than + 0.0 dB/-0.5 dB.

Total Harmonic Distortion from 20 Hz – 20 KHz; no more than 0.1%.

Input Sensitivity Vout=0.125 Volts RMS, F = 1KHz:

MM input: 1.66 millivolts RMS + 2%.

MC input: 0.167 millivolts RMS + 2%.

Input Impedance:

MM input: 47 KOhms shunted by 200 pF

MC input: 400 Ohms.

Corrected output impedance: typically 3.5 KOhms.

Signal-to-noise ratio, below 1 Volts RMS output, A weighted:

MM input to output (shorted input): better than 88dB.

MC input to output (shorted input): better than 87dB.

Absolute Phase: non-inverting.

Input voltage range: 100-240 Volts, 50/60Hz ±10%.

One power transformer; two filter chokes; one full-wave vacuum rectifier; one solid-state analog non-switching voltage regulator.

AC voltage intensively filtered by special RFI power line filter.

Power Supply Energy Storage deluxe version: approximately 150 Joules

AC voltage selector 100/120/220/230/240 Volts, internally switchable.
