| The power supply is shown in the photos..? Yes, it is the smaller unit in the picture to the right of the main unit. There is an umbilical cord that connects the power supply to the H1500 II Plus. The power supply transformer incorporates Permalloy technology and is the same power supply used for its big brother phono preamp - the H-3000. |
| What is the difference between H 1500 Il plus and H 1500? I have never auditioned the two side by side because the H-1500 is an older design, but I know that when Allnic's designer, KS Park upgrades his products - such as the 1500 to the H-1500 II PLUS, there is significant "trickle-down technology" incorporated into the new product from the higher end models in the line - in this case the H-3000. The H-1500 II Plus has:
Two pieces of linear reactor (a special quality choke/inductor), assisted by precise RC filters to lower impedances and insertion loss.
LCR RIAA filter’s impedance is a constant 600 ohms, for more dynamics and more detailed reproduction.
LCR RIAA filter’s series resistance is less than 13 ohms.
GIS KOREA LTD. manufactured and developed the LCR RIAA unit with 600 ohm impedance and a matching method without coupling transformers, the result being the H-1500Ⅱ SE Phono Stage. The avoidance of coupling transformers lowers complexity and cost.
For higher signal-to-noise ratios the H-1500Ⅱ SE is equipped with high speed automatic pure vacuum tube voltage regulators for each channel and with a detached power supply unit.
MM/MC dual Input; high quality MC Step-up Transformer with Permalloy core included.
Patent pending tube damping sockets are used for blocking vibration and microphonic noise.
Non-negative feedback circuit.
All that said, the H-1500 II Plus has an awesome "black level" = lower noise floor. This allows the musicians on the LP to become more holographic in presence, in staging and in conveying the emotions that we all specifically love about vinyl.
It is a big step up from the H-1500 and the new H-1202 BECAUSE of the dedicated, tube regulated outboard power supply which is also used by the H-3000. Hope that helps! |
