Krell Showcase 5

For sale is a Krell Showcase 5 amplifier.  This amplifier has been the foundation of my home theater setup for the past 10 years.  I am the original owner of the amplifier that was purchased from Spearit Audio in Northampton MA back in April 2009.  The unit was shipped to the Spearit Sound by Krell in October 2006 and used as a demo unit until I purchased it.

Two years ago the amplifier was fully serviced by Krell and modified to only draw 2W in stand-by mode from the original 70W.  This modification reduces stand by heat on all components and extends the amplifier lifespan.

The amplifier has only been connected to two surround processors.  The first being a Krell Showcase Processor, which was later replaced by a Krell Foundation UHD where both processors used XLR interconnects.  The amplifier has always driven the same set of B&W CM speakers as seen in one of the attached photos.  The only reason I am selling the amplifier is I have upgraded to a Chorus 5200 XD.  

The amplifier is in excellent physical condition and was only given an 8/10 due to age.  Faceplate is near perfect with only a minor scuff that can be seen if you are very close to the amp with a bright light.
