Original Owner, non-smoking environment.
Wasn't sure how to rate this. Cosmetically it is like new but did develop a static-y noise one can hear under the music and which REL has acknowledged as a known problem and claims is too expensive to fix. Selling in the hopes someone with the means can fix and enjoy this sub.

| Rel achnoledged this problem with your sub that is defective and hasn’t offered you a new sub while when it it is was under warranty.im taking the dealer to court over rel sub B1 that kept breaking down and rel rel refused to fix, their instructions on hooking up to a differential amplifiers is not clear after finding out about this issue they blew me off. Now I’m taking the dealer over faulty hook up instructions and rel is aware as they have changed all future hook up instructions on their preceding

| Just trying to help...one of my Strata IIIs developed the crackling sound, out of warranty of course. Since I didn't use it much, I would always turn it off with the switch on the back (and unplug during storms). The crackling sound would only occur on cold start-ups, but after a minute or so it would go silent. So, I just leave that one always on at the switch, and let it wake-up and go into sleep mode on its own. It always plays just fine and it's been many years like this. My second Strata III and my Stadium III have never (knock on wood) had this issue. Maybe this will work for yours? Thanks for the suggestion, mine would do the same at first but now it's crackling all the time. It's a shame because it still sounds great if you can tune out the crackling. |
