I am selling this DIY "kit" to build the highly regarded Linkwitz Lab LX521.4 open baffle speaker system as designed by the late and great Siegfried Linkwitz. It includes the major building blocks to construct the final version of what he considered to be his best loudspeaker system including the ATI AT528NC 8 channel amplifier as recommended by him.
The components include:
- Complete LX521.4 driver kit as provided by Madisound (retail price: $1,660) - LX521.4 Flat pack cabinet kit as provided by Madisound (retail price: $620) - Hairball Audio ASP.4 Revision 1.0 Printed Circuit Board Set (retail price: $225) - ATI AT528NC amplifier (8 channels) (retail price: $4,595) - Mogami Speaker 4 conductor (3104) speaker cable (60 feet) (retail price: $430) - Speakon connectors (cast metal: 6 male: NLT4MP; 6 female: NLT4FX) ($106) - PCB's: 2 original Linkwitz Orion ASP cards for original LX521 version (retail price: $100) - MiniDSP 4X10 HD Digital Signal Processor ($545)
All components are as recommended by the designer. The ASP.4 includes the PCB set but no other parts. All parts are unused and as received, with the exception of the ATI amp which was removed from the shipping container for verification of operation only and has had about one hour of use. The amp is brand new and includes all original shipping packaging and documentation. All components have been stored in a humidity and temperature controlled storage unit with the intention of building the speaker system but the project was never started.
I am selling the basic major components for building the speaker; however, this is a DIY project which needs to be assembled and finished. It should be understood that there will be many other items that you would need to purchase such as additional assembly hardware, veneer, wiring, electrical parts (for crossover, only PCB's included), etc.
This is an exceptional opportunity for someone to obtain the major components to build the LX521.4 speaker system and to build it your way at a substantial cost savings. If you are unfamiliar with the Linkwitz LX521.4 speaker system, it is highly recommended that you review:
