This 2M Black is one of best MM cartridges. I have used the cart less than 100 hours. The 2M Black performs very well and competes MC carts costing > $1,000. Because of MM style, you don't need any step-up or very-high-amplification-phono stage, in that case (using MC) you can not avoid additional electronic background noise. I have been wondering whether MC is really better than MM. The additional noise of phono system for MC is a bigger negative point than the merit of slightly more faithful tracking of MC cart. I am a second owner, but the first owner (A-gon member) sold it to me as almost brand new status.
