Pro-ject RM 5.1 SE in excellent shape. It looks like the more expensive RPM line which has the motor outside of the chassis and the box is marked "RPM 5.1 SE", but this is the RM 5.1 SE.
INCLUDES Pro-ject electronic Speed Box S ($130 value) - controls speed much more accurately and switch between 45/33 with the touch of a button... no need to touch the belt
I purchased this new a couple of years ago, but the Blue Point No. 2 cartridge has very low use (I used an EVO III on this table). The carbon fiber 9cc arm on this table is outstanding. Also the screw-down clamp really improves the sound.
Will ship in the original box with all the original goodies (gloves, little tools, etc.)
"The RM-5 and Blue Point No.2 make a formidable combination in the sub-kilobuck sweepstakes, and the carbon-fiber arm is a pleasant surprise...it brings forth more of the fine details that make listening more engaging and rewarding. Its sound is far closer to the bigger Pro-Ject ’tables and worth the extra coin." – Jim Hannon, The Absolute Sound

  • Features: Piano-lacquered dark grey chassis
  • Quiet running AC motor with a two-step pulley drives the hub and platter via a flat-ground belt.
  • The medium density fiber plinth stands on three height-adjustable rubber-damped aluminum cones.
  • The motor is decoupled from the plinth to reduce vibration transmission.
  • Sandwich construction with a medium density fiber platter, a integrated vinyl, and a screw-down record clamp.
  • Low-tolerance chrome-plated stainless-steel axle runs on a Teflon bearing plate in a sintered bronze bearing housing.
  • Central metal block optimizes center of gravity and damps main bearing.
  • Gold-plated phono sockets and earth screw.
  • External power supply avoids potential electro-mechanical interference. (BUT - I am including the speed box, which is a better power source)
