Rogue Audio RP-5 Tube Preamplifier

This amazing unit has had modest usage as a full preamp, with most of it’s main usage integrated into a 5.1 home theater (Works as a pass through while not powered ‘on’, so not using any tube life). Approximately 2 years old, it's in excellent condition. The provided photos are what I took for a review of this unit and are the actual current unit. This is currently one of the best-value/top-rated tube-based preamplifiers out there. (still listed as one of the top tube preamplifiers in The Absolute Sound and Stereophile)

Has been paired with a Rogue Audio Stereo 100 tube amplifier. 100% American made. HT by-pass, tube based headphone amplifier, a very good clean built-in phone stage. 9/10 condition. Recently had the opportunity to upgrade to the Rogue Audio RP-7 (which loses the phono stage). When I auditioned the RP-5, I did so against my original vintage Audio Research LS-2B, a new Audio Research LS17SE, a solid state Moon by Simaudio 350p and later the Simaudio 390, and the Rogue RP-5 was the winner hands down. The Simaudio units lived up to their greatness in what they offer for solid state, but Rogue won for best balance of tube-based neutrality. This Rogue is the best preamp you can get for under $6K. (Only bested by Rogue’s RP-7, for which you lose the phono).
