BAT (Balanced Audio Technology) VK-P10 phono preamp in like-new cosmetic condition and perfect working condition. Hot-rodded with high-quality NOS input and output tubes from Andy Bowman (Vintage Tube Services).

The input tubes are mirror-matched 1970's-era Matsushita 6DJ8's (see receipt). Andy's description: "A very good 6DJ8 made in Japan during the 60’s and 70’s. These units are extremely well made and have a warm, sweet tonal balance. Far, far better than anything being made in the last 35 years. Made for TVs, these were part of the first wave of electronics that helped Japan take over the U.S. Consumer electronics industry in the 60’s and 70’s. These are second only to the four Euro greats Amprex, Siemens & Halski, Telefunken and Mullard."

The output tubes are mirror-matched 1960's-era Sylvania 6DJ8's (Andy: "Nice clean sounding well balanced units. Good and reliable.").

Please note that the two new old-stock, made-in-1944, RCA Red-Base 5692 power supply tubes seen installed in the preamp are not included (you can have my 9 year-old daughter, but not the RCA Red-Base 5692's). The two made-in-Russia 6SN7's (no doubt made by Reflektor, but it's not specified) power supply tubes that the preamp was supplied from the factory with are included.

This phono preamp has a full range of cartridge loading, from 100 Ohms to 47Kohms, and gain choices from 44 db. to 74 db., to accommodate any cartridge (I use it with an A-90). Physically, it is a beast of a phono stage with 200 joules of energy storage and an unboxed weight of 40 lbs.

Mine is not the "VK-P10SE" version. I have owned both: the SE version is more dynamic due to using higher output 6C45 output tubes and "SIX-PAK " output capacitors, while the non-SE version is more neutral and resolving because it can be run with new old-stock 6922/6DJ8's (it's very difficult to find new old-stock 6C45's, so practically speaking, only current-production 6C45 tubes are available, which means Reflektor-factory tubes branded variously as Sovtek or Electro-Harmonix, i.e., garbage).

Includes the four new old-stock Matsushita 6DJ8's, four new old-stock Sylvania 6DJ8's, eight Sovtek (Reflektor) 6922's originally supplied with the unit (NOTE: real 6922's went out-of-production in 1961 - this is more Reflektor nonsense), the two stock Russian 6SN7's, shorting plugs for the XLR's (must be inserted to use the single-ended inputs), Cardas RCA shorting plugs, Neutrix XLR-to-RCA converter plugs for the XLR outputs if you are running a single-ended preamp, stock power cord, owner's manual, and original box (will ship double-boxed).

Will ship only within continental United States. Local NYC pick-up preferred. Thank you.
