Aragon Aurum

For sale is an Aragon Aurum preamplifier with Aragon Ingot outboard power supply. Preamp works and sounds great. Condition is 7/10 due to two small scratches on the upper edge of the face plate, as pictured. Otherwise, the unit is in flawless condition, and has been tested to work perfectly.

Its advanced circuit, designed with matched transistors, inherently yields astonishingly low distortion. In this unique design, the single ended output signal is used as a reference to create the corresponding complementary output. These balanced outputs are time aligned to within 2 nanoseconds. In turn, this creates a superior preamplifier of incredible musical accuracy in both balanced and unbalanced modes. As would be expected of any Aragon, the signal passes through only discrete Class A circuitry and direct coupled output. The unique shielded switches reduce crosstalk with only a single silver contact in the signal path. Each channel has its own isolated switch wafer for complete dual mono separation. The volume control is custom made by Penny & Giles. Its conductive plastic resistive element is designed to utilize more of its swept area to insure better signal flow. The five gold plated wipers for each channel insure the integrity of the original input signal. Swiss made gold plated balanced output connectors are used. The circuit board uses oxygen-free copper as its conductor and ground plane. This large circuit board allows for optimum component placement and isolation, thereby achieving a benchmark in image specificity and accuracy of sound stage."
