Classe Audio CA-300 Power Amplifier

When Classe' designed and built the CA series amplifiers in Canada, they were fantastic amplifiers.  Some regard this series as the best sounding amp they ever built.  Beautifully sculpted faceplates and tank-like construction put Classe' on the map.  

The secret behind the sound was a massive custom toroidal transformer providing power to, not a bank of large capacitors, but rows of smaller capacitors.  This effectively allowed them to 'load' and 'unload' much quicker giving the sound authority and speed.  The amp never sounds like its straining or working even at high volume levels.

While this amp is clean inside it has a number of cosmetic imperfections.  The faceplate was mostly protected but what we can only describe as someone storing it on the handles.  The sides are clean with a few small dings and two fins on the left side lower rear is bent.  On the rear both handles are showing some anodization discoloration.  This amp is so beautiful in shape that we almost pulled the handles off and set them in for re-anodizing. (But we didn't). (By the way they come off with 4 nuts that hold the faceplate on...takes about a minute.)

She's still pretty from a distance but if you're looking for a brute amp to provide plenty of power in rich, smooth detail without any harshness, look no further.  This amp really reminds us of the big Jeff Roland models.

CONDITION -  We just did a minor service and cleaning of this amp.  The interior is clean.  Top cover has a few scratches, rear handles have some anodizing discoloration, left rear has a bent fin at bottom rear.  Front faceplate has some minor scratches and scuffs.  Handles are heavily scratched.  No sign of smoke or pets.
