Hattor Audio Passive Pre

PLEASE NOTE: This passive pre has a functional issue.  Everything works as it should BUT on certain volume options the volume cuts out completely.  I don't know why.  The volume settings at which the pre- goes silent seem to me to be randomly interspersed with the volume settings that work.  I don't think any of the non-working settings are consecutive, either, so that if the volume cuts out when set to 39 it will be fine for 38 and 40.  This can be annoying, although it didn't bother me when I was using it.  It happens in both channels and is not dependent on my gear.  I'm not sure what the issue is, but I haven't bothered fixing it and now I have an integrated amp and don't need this anymore.  
 
My price reflects the functional issue.    
This is the European-made Hattor passive preamplifier.  Great reviews online and it sounds excellent.   

This one has the gain option (an additional $350), so it will run completely passively or you can set it for 3 different gain settings (+3dB, +6db, or +9db).  The gain as well as the volume are controlled by a sturdy remote control, which is included.  And the Hattor separate power supply connects to the preamplifier with an umbilical. 
   
This one also has the Takman REX resistors (an additional $300).    

This is conservatively graded an 8 but I can't find any marks on it.  It's a solid, well-made, beautiful piece of gear that comes in its own flight case.  The heat sinks actually spell out "Hattor" if looked at from above (see photos).  Shipping is a flat fee and includes insurance.
