Soul was nominated for a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal
Performance in 1968 for the song "You'll Go To Hell". This album
contains the classics "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free",
which would become a Civil Rights anthem. Definitive audiophile
treatment mastered by Bernie Grundman from the Original Master Tapes and
pressed on 180 grams vinyl.

released in 1967, Silk & Soul was nominated for a Grammy for Best
Female R&B Vocal Performance in 1968 for the song "You'll Go To
Hell". This album contains the classics "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel
To Be Free", which would become a Civil Rights anthem and "It Be's That
Way Sometimes", written by her brother Sam Waymon. Besides the
Grammy nominated tune, the album includes Simone's version of
Bacharach's "The Look of Love" which was written for the 1967 movie
Casino Royale.
