Berlioz Edition - 24 CD Sir Colin Davis - Philips

Little need be said about the performances here, as few conductors have been so totally identified with a particular composer as was Sir Colin Davis with Berlioz. Indeed many of the recordings here have been called "definitive." And this Edition contains virtually everything Davis did for Philips. What is unique here is this 24 CD Edition itself, now very rare brand new. It consists of an outer slipcase enclosing 3 Volumes, The Orchestral Works (6 CD), Operas (9 CD), and Sacred & Vocal Works (9 CD). All 3 were also marketed separately, but are now out of print as well. Yet it is this complete compendium that remains the prize.
