Two-Channel Revolution.

The STR Power Amplifier is the beating heart of a world-class 2-channel sound system. It delivers massive power generation, with audiophile-quality output in a smartly designed component.

Designed, engineered, and Crafted in Canada, the STR Power Amplifier delivers 400 Watts/channel into 8 ohms with both channels driven, a massive 600 Watts/channel into 4 ohms (both channels driven) and 800W in 2 ohms, for true no-holds-barred performance.

Inside, the STR Power Amplifier uses two colossal transformers and multiple high-current output devices so the most subtle details and dynamic peaks are handled equally well. Outside, its beautifully designed cosmetics, including a 7-inch graphic control display and secure, highly conductive audiophile connectors provide a perfect match to the STR Preamplifier.

Questions for the seller
Can you compare the Anthem to the AHB2?
I can actually. It comes down to power and control. Let me give you two examples. The Persona 9H has 4 woofers a mid-range and tweeter. The 4 woofers are powered(speaker plugs into wall). Only the mid-range and tweeter need amplification. Hence the AHB2 is perfect in this example. 100W perfectly done(measurement wise) via SpeakOn cables. Fantastic. Power and control. But on a set of Persona 7F, same exact speaker, minus the powered woofers, I needed to use the STR for real control of all 6 speakers per channel. Same thing for my Larsen 8.2 speakers. I needed (2) AHB2 in stereo (speakers dip to 2ohms and below sometimes) to do what a single STR could do. 400 watts is very different from 100 watts even if you are only using the first 15 watts. It is the headroom I sometimes need for a dual use room, i.e. home theater, which is where the dual nature of the STR can standout. For pure 2 channel stereo the AHB2 is wonderful. Bridge them and I have it from Benchmark that they will handle 2ohms and 980 watts. The AHB2 will output exactly what you give it. No color, no attitude and no surprises. The STR Power will be more flexible in a multi-use environment like stereo and home theater. In a blind testing could I tell the difference if they were level matched? Probably if the speakers were of a larger type or had a very low sensitivity. That the low end might not have as much control. But even that is pushing it.
