RARE: Sansui TU-X1 Tuner. I rated it an 8; more like 8 1/2. This one is about as good as you can find for a 40 year old tuner. Restored, upgraded and aligned in September of 2019 by Mike Williams of Radio-X-Tuners, a trusted Tuner Information Center individual. His work is excellent. A copy of the receipt will be included with the tuner. See below for specific upgrades and before/after specs.
Everything works as it should with all lights functioning. Tuning is spot on. Yes, it sounds great with a deep, dark, rich, fully robust sound. There are a couple of pin-point marks on top and on the right side. Also a light 3/8" or so mark on top. I tried to capture them in the pictures. They have not been touched up with a Sharpie. There are none of the scratches or dents you typically see where equipment has sat on top. Overall an extremely presentable example of this rare bird.
Includes etched display glass, a color copy of the 9 page sales flyer, and a cd format service manual. Before I give you specs, which most of you will already know, let me tell you why I'm selling it. First, our local public radio station no longer plays the music they used to. In fact, in my opinion they have gone politically rogue with talk shows and bias news. That's bad enough but I used to pull in 104.5 in Bluefield WV, about 100 miles away to listen to sports. Now there is a mom and pop religious station that has started in Rocky Mt., VA on the exact same frequency, directly between where I live and Bluefield WV. So, guess what I now have to listen to. Nothing. This is sitting in my rack not being used by anyone.
I cannot offer returns due to the age of this unit. Pictures will be taken during each step of the packaging process and the unit will be fully insured. If it helps, I can tell you I have over 4000 positive feedbacks on Ebay with 0 neutrals or negatives since 1999. No shenanigans here.

Placing an offer: Do not offer/bid unless you are serious and have at least 3 good feedbacks on Audiogon with no negatives. Offers will be replied to on a first come, first serve basis. I will tell you the price is pretty firm as it includes the price of tuner, over $1K paid to Radio-X-Tuners, and the price of packaging and shipping.
Packaging. I've sent multiple stereo units via Fed Ex Ground with no problem. Item will be wrapped in multiple layers of Saran wrap to prevent paper scratches, mars etc. Then the big bubble wrap with extra pieces on the front to remove stress from the 2 big knobs. Multiple layers will be applied. Then a box. Then more bubble wrap. Then another box.
Shipping: FREE to the lower 48 only; excluding Miami FL. I will NOT ship to a Miami address unless you have impeccable credentials. Do not ask me to ship anywhere other than the lower 48 states in USA. Local p/u is fine but please don't expect to be able to listen to it as the tuner has been removed from the rack and prepared for shipment. If you do p/u you can have a $150 discount off the agreed on sales price.
