London Decca Super Gold - exceptional cartridge - free US shipping

Purchased from the estate of an audiophile who had over 60 cartridges, many of which (including this one) appeared to be unused. I promptly sent the cartridge to builder John Wright in December 2020 for an inspection/assessment, who said the cartridge and stylus are in exceptional shape with approximately 1000 hours of play time remaining, equalling 'as new' condition. Since then the cartridge has seen maybe 40 hours of total use, so it's perhaps not yet even fully broken in.
The Super Gold is far and away the liveliest and most explosively dynamic cartridge I've ever heard. The sense of realism it conveys is palpable. Lots of info and opinions about it and its siblings in the London Decca family are readily available online.

In an attempt to anticipate the inevitable 'why are you selling'-type questions I'll say here quite simply that I have a surplus of gear and a shortage of cash. The Super Gold has no long cantilever and no rubbery fulcrum point to absorb, dissipate and smear the vital musical energy. Instead, the stylus is attached directly to a magnetically active metal support just a few microns thick which passes through the centre of the main generating coil positioned about 1 millimeter above the stylus. The stylus motion is not inverted or transformed to a smaller value as in long cantilever designs. Flowing from this immediate positive-direct scanning of the groove is a breathtaking, lifelike quality. The listener tends to feel that the performing artists are actually in the same room, with a startling, palpable presence.
The Super Gold uses a line-contact, polished, grain-oriented diamond stylus similar to the Jubilee’s, mated to less costly generator coils and housing. If you have never heard the $3,000 London Decca Jubilee, you may well think the Super Gold is the world’s best cartridge. Subjectively, it offers 90% of Jubilee’s unrivaled musical realism.
