They still broadcast over the airwaves and what better way to capture the experience than
with a Kenwood KT-7500 tuner. This is aesthetically and sonically, an
exceptional example of one of Kenwood's finest! So here's what's been
upgraded:
* All electrolytic and film caps have been replaced
* All resistors -- except in the tuning capacitor -- have been replaced with tighter tolerance, metal film replacements
* All new lamps
* Upgraded operational amplifier for audio output
* Walnut veneer wood cover has been refinished with Howard's Restor-A-Finish and Howards Feed-N-Wax (looks new)
* Pristine faceplate! Not a scratch, ding, dent...nor fingerprint!
This tuner is regarded as an excellent candidate for modding towards
super-tuner performance. Some of those upgrade mods with respect to
capacitors and the op amp, have been done. Some of the more "tweaky"
mods were not performed because some of them entail bypassing some
controls and this unit works exceptionally well already.
